Bucknam was contracted in 2008 by the City of Irvine to perform a citywide conversion of their previous CHEC pavement software to MicroPAVER as well as perform 400 miles of pavement survey. Our staff developed a citywide capital improvement plan that proactively developed an OCTA Measure M2 compliant arterial network and a residential maintenance zone program that garnered the greatest return-on-investment for the City.

Additionally, our staff developed a dynamic link between the City’s Lucity system and MicroPAVER. All updated inspections, work history and section metrics from MicroPAVER are viewable within the Lucity system.

Based on our assessment, conversion and implementation efforts, the City has contracted with our firm numerous times through the past nine (9) years.  Bucknam  is currently under a new three-year contract (2016-2019) as the City's PRIME INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT TEAM. Additionally, our staff is currently performing pavement management and inspection services on all designated “off-street” bike and trail pathways, park sidewalk and facility hardscapes.

Mr. Peter Bucknam has managed the City of Fountain Valley’s infrastructure management program since 1998.  Throughout this eighteen year span Mr. Bucknam has worked closely with the City's PW Director and key department leaders to assess, build, implement and manage the City's Infrastructure-GIS Program.  On an annual basis Bucknam is contracted to provide our Core & Special Infrastructure/GIS services across all departments to ensure that key department data is reflected accurately through the FV GIS Web Interface.  These services cover the Public Works CIP, PW Utilities (Water, Sewer, Storm, Traffic, Record Retention), Code Enforcement, Parks & Facilities, Police, Planning and the City Manager's office. 

Bucknam provides these services through on-site staff augmentation weekly and off-site GIS project management services.  Additionally, Bucknam provide similar Infrastructure-GIS services to the cities of Tustin, Alhambra and Menifee, CA

Bucknam was selected by the John Wayne Airport to perform a facility-wide pavement survey which includes all PCC aprons, taxiways and AC runways. Our staff will be assessing previous MicroPAVER inspection and survey efforts that have been performed over the past six plus years as well as assist JWA staff develop a new FAA required capital improvement program through the use of MicroPAVER. Our work efforts will cover a three-year term and will additionally assist JWA staff in implementing a MicroPAVER-GIS based system to enhance the PMP.  Based on the success of our initial project, Bucknam has been awarded two additional three-year extensions for PMP services.

Since 2003 our staff and Project Manager have supported the City of Ontario with pavement management services. Our staff surveys over 200 miles of pavement (33% of the network) each year, and updates the City’s comprehensive five (5) year CIP to reflect current trends.

Our reporting includes numerous pavement models that allow the City to select the most cost effective and common-sense approach to Ontario maintenance.  Our staff also developed a dedicated MicroPAVER-GIS link in order to display all pavement data collected during this project to be shown through CityGIS.
